SLPIZ BIO:
DJ Slipz is one of the most exciting and boundary-pushing figures in drum ‘n’ bass today. Known for his electrifying live sets and impeccable mixing, Slipz has carved out a name for himself with his signature blend of hard-hitting basslines, intricate rhythms, and an undeniable ability to control the crowd.
A key player in the Bass Layerz collective, Slipz has been a driving force behind its rise, contributing to its mission of bringing fresh, cutting-edge sounds to the forefront of the DnB scene. His work with Bass Layerz has seen him release a string of high-impact tracks, each one cementing his reputation as a master of both heavy bass and precision mixing.
Tracks like “Bounce Back” and “Break the Chain” have become fan favorites, and his exclusive dubplates often dominate the dancefloors, keeping the crowd hungry for more. His ability to craft energetic, yet emotional soundscapes has made his productions stand out, while his unique take on jump-up and neurofunk styles keeps his sound fresh and unpredictable.
Slipz’s involvement with Bass Layerz has also allowed him to work alongside some of the scene’s biggest names, with collaborations and remixes that continue to push the limits of what’s possible in DnB. Whether he’s working on a new release or throwing down behind the decks, Slipz is always at the forefront of the movement, blending his old-school appreciation for the genre’s roots with an eye on its future.
With his relentless passion and a reputation for always bringing something new to the table, DJ Slipz isn’t just a DJ—he’s a trailblazer in the world of bass-driven music, and this is just the beginning.
BLU BOMMBA BIO:
Hailing from Nottingham, Blu Bomma started MC’ing around 2002, quickly establishing himself as one of Nottingham’s top performers, working with various MC’s in the scene, such as; Spyda, Bassman (who gave him the name Blu Bomma), IC3, Trigga, Navigator, the list goes on… as-well as just about every ‘A’-list Drum and Bass DJ out there, including Fabio & Grooverider.
He has performed at numerous events, across Europe and the UK, including; Raveology, Random Concept, Flexout, Bassmans’ Birthday Bash, Innovation and BASS/OFF, to name a few.
He also co-wrote the Pendulum hit “Tarantula”, working in the studio with DJ Fresh, Pendulum and MC Spyda, to help produce what is now a legendary track.
Blu Bomma is not an MC for one style of music and will happily MC on most musical styles/genres, including Bashment/Dancehall, Grime, Hip Hop Dubstep and Garage – adjusting his style and flow to suit. He has recently been spitting on Dubstep sets, working with DJ’s such as Mary Anne Hobbs from Radio 1. Dubstep is a scene that Blu Bomma is looking forward to becoming more involved in, following positive feedback from artists and ravers alike.
At present, Blu Bomma is collaborating with Retraflex/Thunderskank and one of the UK’s top rappers, Scorzayzee, on some Dubstep material, which is due out in late 2010. He is also working on some projects with other, well-known, producers.
ACP BIO:
We talk about the “new skool” of drum ‘n’ bass artists, but ACP pushes that concept to extremes. The fact that he’s signed to Urban Agency before he’s even out of his teens, coupled with his innovative approach to his career and music, makes him one of the most exciting prospects to emerge in recent years.
Brought up by parents who were both fans of house music, and who introduced ACP to deejays and deejaying at a very early age, he had already graduated to production by the age of thirteen. Initially, he was mainly drawn to dubstep but, after hearing DJ Guv’s ‘Slice & Dice’ – which he saw as, in his words, “dubstep but better” – the conversion to DnB head was inevitable.
Growing up in an era when music was mainly consumed from YouTube and was seen as a branch of content creation, ACP brings a perspective that the genre hasn’t really seen before. With a heavy focus on up-to-the-minute, dancefloor-demolishing jump-up styles, he’s also carrying on traditions from the foundations of the scene. With literally hundreds of unreleased dubplates populating his sets at any given time and a deep appreciation for the art of sound design, exclusivity is a key feature of the ACP experience. You aren’t going to hear a set or a tune quite like one of his.
With huge club and festival bookings already in the diary, a discography that includes releases on highly-regarded labels like Souped Up, Gradient and Cru-Cast, and an ever-growing reputation, ACP has already firmly established his place in DnB. And, he’s done all that while he’s still a student, preparing to complete his music degree, so we can only imagine what’s to come as he graduates to the next level.
Blending a new era content creator’s attitude with a love and deep respect for the art and craft of drum ‘n’ bass, ACP is at the vanguard of a generation ready and willing to make waves. We’ve seen what he’s already achieved before he’s even out of his teens, and it’s clear that his biggest moves are ahead of him. Watch closely, ACP is here and is setting the pace for the next wave of talent.
